Frequently asked questions

Is a generated UUID unique?

UUID v4 uses strong randomness and has an extremely low collision chance, though no random generator can promise absolute uniqueness.

Can I use these in production?

For many systems, UUID v4 is appropriate. Check your database, ordering and security requirements.

Are UUIDs stored?

No. They are generated in your browser and are not stored by the site.
